At The Pattern Master, we are passionate about transforming your ideas into amazing garments that are tailored to your unique style.
We can help with all aspects of the process and we work closely with our clients to understand their individual requirements.
Tech packs are an essential part of any atelier. They are the manual for each garment and ensure accountability and consistency within a brand.
We are experts at creating tech packs which are bespoke to your needs and will discuss all requirements to make sure nothing is missed.
A brief overview of a basic tech pack would consist of: Front Sheet, Design Details & Inspiration, Technical Drawings, BOM Sheet, Pattern Measurements, Grading, PP1, PP2 and Gold Seal Comments.
Pattern cutting is what we specialise in here at The Pattern Master. Whether it is manual or digital work which needs completing rest assured you will have beautifully fitting garments at the end of the process.
We can create patterns straight from sketches or technical drawings but will always discuss designs to ensure full understanding before creating a pattern.
Digital pattern software we are able to use are currently: Gerber, Gerber 3D and Clo3D.
We are able to turn your beautiful illustrations and designs into clear concise technical drawings. This will enable pattern cutters, machinists and factories to share your vision and create the best possible garment. Included in this service is technical design advise, as a pattern cutter I am able to identify some potential construction issues at this stage and advise on the best path to take to avoid delays in the toiling process.
Need help with working out costings? Using marker making either digitally or manually we can figure out how much fabric it will take per garment and also advise on ways to make your fabric usage more efficient. For example adding seams or changing grain lines on particular pieces.
Grading is an essential part of any brand. As part of the tech pack creation grading can also be inputted into these documents. We are also able to look over existing grading and consult on any issues we can see and offer alternatives to improve the fit and look of garments over a full size set.
We can also grade actual patterns, this can be done manually or on a digital system such as Gerber. Again we offer a check and advise service alongside this if for instance a factory has graded for you and you are unsure of the results.
Garment Technicians and Pattern Cutters come hand in hand, within the roles there are many areas that cross over. We are able to assist with any garment tech related roles to ensure you are getting the most out of your patterns, machinists and factories.
We can help with measuring patterns, measuring garments, attending fit meetings, advising on fit & fabric issues, writing clear comments, quality checks, shrinkage and trims.
